Yay it's finally up, The Skeleton Queen short film trailer, website as well :) Thank you to Ian Lopez and his exceptional animators from class 09ADAN04. The full film is still being edited, I'm not sure when that will be out, but for now I've put together a trailer and website dedicated to everyone involved with the film.

Wow it's already 1st May, I've been grinding through work since my last update. There is a new pin-up on the way if I can find some more time to finish it. Here is the latest batch of Mighty Ape art, including the Facebook avatars, Easter and Australian launch artwork.

Here is the full Space Chronicles main theme composed by Sam Hulick back in 2008, I finally got around to include it on my youtube account. Sam Hulick is also a co-composer for Xbox360/PC videogame Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 which is out next week, can't wait to play it! ;P

The Skeleton Queen & other project concepts

Here are The Skeleton Queen artwork I've done for Natcoll's 3D animated short film take on my comic book creation. The film is almost done, hats off to them for doing a great job on recreating my characters into 3D and animation produced by the talented folks at Natcoll!

Not all projects go smoothly, here is a project that fell through during production. I've uploaded some of it's concepts and designs.

Will have more stuff uploaded soon. Still busy so haven't gotten around to answering a few emails.

Pulp Magazine spring edition is out now, which has 10 pages guide to Creative Education. I was interviewed about animation and freelancing, I've taken a photo of the page that features me (the middle column!) with my life drawing to the bottom left and one of my commission art as my main picture :P

The Skeleton Queen short film

My 2008 mini comic The Skeleton Queen included as part of a compilation with DMC New Ground comic book, will be made into a 3D animated short film. Produced at Natcoll Design Technology, I will be the Art Director for this project. I've written a new story for this project and designed new characters and sets, including existing ones - Xana, Bear and The Skeleton Queen will be in the film.

We've released a teaser poster, 3D model of Xana made by Ian Lopez of Natcoll (poster pose designed by me! ;) Note to international visitors, that's New Zealand summer 2009 :)

That's as much as I can say for now, will release more information as we get closer to finishing this project, there will be a trailer but I'm not sure when yet. A new website for this project will also be created - more info on that soon!

Captain Power - Pilot pin-up

Power on! Captain Power was one of my favorite kids shows when I was little. I had their toy you use like a light gun with the TV during the show, I don't think it worked but it was fun pretending it did :) This was a fairly rushed pin-up.

Finally put sometime aside for a pin-up artwork! Here is Arcee from the Transformers animated film, one of my favorite movies, great music! I was listening to Dare most of the time while drawing Arcee.

I was commission to created a paintball event poster in the UK for Bunker Productions, the theme for their Bunker Assault 2 event was Games Workshop's 40k Warhammer - Imperials vs Orks. So I had to design something similar to that but not copy it :P

Now that Vixen is finally done, so I took the weekend off and spent Sunday working on a Sheva pin-up from the videogame Resident Evil 5, great game, finished it and unlocked her tribal outfit (as shown). Wasn't unable to color it until late this afternoon.

New Zealand's March issue of Opera News Magazine has in included several pages of The Cunning Little Vixen. I was asked to write a short brief on the art production and design process for this project, and provide them with a few artwork and sketches.

Quick update, quite busy at the moment with several projects nearing their deadlines, including The Cunning Little Vixen. One of my clients for this year went into recession so that project was put on hold, I'm looking into uploading the artwork I've already done for them. No other artwork to post either which is strange because I've done nothing by draw since the last update but can't post anything! :P

If your interested in hiring me to do some work for you, I will have time after March, right now there's alittle too much on my plate.

The Cunning Little Vixen poster is done! and is now out and about online, the poster will be making it's rounds in Wellington in February to March. Except for the text information, I designed the entire poster, from text placement, layout, colors and of course the artwork :D More info coming when we hit March :)

I've been playing Fable 2 on the Xbox 360 again quiet a bit (since the new content arrived online), awesome game. I made this pin-up of my character :D yep, it's a female warrior! I designed it as a collectible card, since in the game you collect a lot of things.

Crunch time for me, a bunch of projects are in the home stretch, with some new ones cropping up. I don't have anything to upload at the moment, except this Mighty Ape Xbox 360 prize artwork. Costume change for the Mighty Ape character on their website soon too!. The Cunning Little Vixen main ad artwork should be around Wellington and online by the end of this month. There was another fan art in the works but I don't think I have time now :{
